Fujairah Home Owners Are Bracing themselves against Cyclone Gonu

At special risk are the lovely beach homes whose properties are situated between the main road and the Fujairah beach.

Home owner, Mr Abdul (pictured), had employed a bulldozer to build a wall across his small, private beach.

He said, “There was a cyclone that hit Fujairah about 10-15 years ago and waters came through my garden. But this new cyclone appears to be stronger. It appears that tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday will be the critical days.”

Mr Abdul’s wife, a flower shop owner in Fujairah, is currently in London. “She doesn’t know about the cyclone yet!” said Abdul.
