This morning (Tuesday 5 June 2007) at dawn it was low tide but the waves were up higher than usual and the normally placid bay (see main blog picture) had the roar of an ocean beach.
At 2.30pm the tide was in and the waters were extremely high.
Motorists stopped their cars to take pictures of the waves coming up over the large, flat car park.
There was no beach to speak of as the waters had risen high and the waves were crashing in at 2-4 metres.
